The most common criticism I hear of glass fermentation weights is that they are difficult to remove. There are different designs with handles and such but I find that they are all slippery and quite difficult to hold once in the jar. However, if you feel like it, you can simply tilt the weight to get a good grip. Then it's a simple matter. This design has handles, like most, but they don't reach for a good grip, but it doesn't matter. I doubt other handle designs are better as the glass needs to be shaped during production. They're good enough for me as long as there's room in the bench to tilt them enough to hold them well. Even then they are slippery, but not too slippery.
