I bought this because I was fed up with waxing but what I didn't realize was that it feels like a pain of what waxing can be. When I first tried it, every time I pulled the "trigger" or pressed the button, I felt like a rubber band gripped me. It wasn't that bad, but I didn't have it at the highest level and I still don't do it. When it comes to usage, I found that with fairly thin and small hair, I didn't have to fully wax or shave it to use it. I've found that even thin blond hair has either thinned out or gone out of use. With thicker hair or where there is a lot more of it, I found that shaving that area before using made the hair a lot thinner and even had some of it gone. I hardly have hair on my legs and some of it has already thinned out. Here I will not shave or wax before using this weapon. I shave my armpits, but I've noticed that where there were thinner hairs, they're gone, but now they're almost in the form of spots. I use it on my bikini line and although my hair is still there it is much finer than before. It takes time but in the month I've been using it I'm really impressed with the results. You must wear glasses to protect your eyes. What I noticed with this epilation is that in areas where the hair was already thin, it's either gone or practically gone. The average thickness has become much thinner and has almost disappeared. Thicker hair is thin, but it still grows. I've noticed that even the thickest hair sometimes grows and falls out on its own. This weapon is really easy to use but I recommend reading the instructions as they are really helpful when it comes to how to use this weapon. Overall my hair has thinned and almost disappeared and I am very happy with my results. Even some of my facial hair has stopped growing. It does leave light, red marks, however, but I have found that a small amount of aloe vera gel helps soothe the skin after using this IPL.
