I have been using Johnny B styling gel for over 4 years now and there is a good reason why I have not switched to other hair gels (I use Schwarzkopf hair gel when I travel because this bottle is too big, to carry around, but I don't like how Schwarzkopf gel lasts longer on my hair in the shower). The Johnny B Gel holds up fairly well and I have soft hair that straightens without hair products. It's also pretty versatile. You can apply it as is, or you can rub it in with wet hands before applying it to your hair to keep unruly, unruly hair in place. It can also be easily rinsed off with water in the shower. I don't think I'll ever change hair gel until I die.
