Review on 💾 Oyen Digital MiniPro 2.5" SATA to USB-C External Hard Drive/SSD Enclosure (U31M-C25-G): Fast Data Transfer & Reliable Storage Solution by Prem Robinson

Purchased so I can install an SSD and use it as a boot drive for my Mac Mini. Boot time has been halved to around 45 seconds. I've been using it for 8 months and haven't had any problems with it. It's stationary and never leaves my desk. There were times when the Mini couldn't see my router's SSID and I couldn't find the reason. I eventually found that the drop between my computer and the router was blocking the signal and moving it around restored it a bit. The case is on the right side of my Mini and my router is about 3 feet to the right and about a foot below. mini the signal is lost. Pushing it back 2 inches allows the signal to pass unhindered. Since I use Ethernet almost exclusively, this isn't a problem, but it's worth mentioning. insufficient warranty - IMO it should be at least 3 years. Revain offers the same 1-year warranty on its case for $10. ORICO offers an 18-month warranty and lifetime technical support for its external case. The drive is installed and subject to little physical wear and tear in a desktop environment. And since mine is used with an SSD, there's almost no heat inside to damage the components. I know people who carry them around with their laptops or cameras can be rougher on them, but why should I be penalized with a lousy warranty if I misuse them? If Oyen thinks their cases won't last more than a year, they should be using better parts! Mine turns on and off 2 or 3 times a week when the computer is left idle for many hours; the rest of the time it is untouched. It might only be $40, but still. I don't have to worry about it breaking after 14 months and I need to order another one that will also only last a year - I won't be buying cases annually. in a rugged switch, give it a 3-year warranty and charge $50 if you need it. Even my Mac came with a 3-year warranty (when you bought AppleCare) and it has a lot of moving parts and expensive electronics inside. I also found that the fools at Oyen are VERY useless. I have requested a copy of the icon file for the drive to identify it. ALL of my other 2 dozen drives have icons that make it easy to identify them in the sidebar and open/save dialogs. But these assholes flatly refused to send them.
