If I had thought about it for a few minutes, I would have understood. 50 feet requires a lot of suction power. We recently replaced our central vacuum motor with a unit that is 2x more powerful than the previous one (new motor for a 10,000 sq ft house, a 3.5,000 sq ft house). With this hose, the suction power is slightly higher than the last motor when I used the 20ft hose. I suggest you buy a 30-35 foot hose. Also, I bought a "matching" wand off Amazon and it doesn't fit. The handle has a notch for a button that doesn't have a matching hole on a stick. lame.
