I like how nice the edges look, with most pieces having minimal bark loss. I think even if I were to peel off the bark, these would still look very nice. The 2 packs of cords that come with this go well with a rustic or primitive theme, and I appreciate that these were included.If burning with a laser engraver, take note that the rings will interrupt the finer details. Perhaps setting one's laser at a greater depth will help solve that problem. If burning with a handheld wood burning tool, adjusting pressure and time would likely make the design and tone more consistent.The dimensions are accurate, and the depth of these is fairly substantial. These arrive in a zip top thick-ish plastic bag that means I can keep on storing these wood slices in it and not have to scramble to find another storage bag or container.I've not yet painted on these, as my main purpose is for wood burning designs and verses onto these. I've not experienced any splintering, and although the tops aren't as smooth as a small board, these are much better quality than I had hoped for or expected. Thanks for reading.
