This wallet is made of leather, cardboard, some kind of synthetic padding in between and a lining. The cardboard that stiffens the wallet is thicker than the leather that covers it. 100% genuine leather is as thick as a sheet of paper. I usually buy the products that are closest to what I like; After the purchase, I then make changes to get as close as possible to my ideal. When I started working on that detail to remove the zip pocket I realized it wasn't worth my time. The materials are so cheap that I think it's better to just throw it away and buy another wallet. I didn't want a super thick leather wallet. Actually, I wanted a fairly thin wallet. If real cardboard and real synthetic stuffing were also leather then this wallet would have triple the amount of leather but it would be moderately thin and it would be what it appears to be. cheap is not good; good not cheap. This wallet is not what it is for sale. I will not buy anything from Marshall again.
