There are two options: either remove all the old glass and then attach it, or just attach it over the old mirror. I attached it to an old mirror. If you really look in the mirror you can tell, but the untrained eye won't even notice. Fits perfectly. I just cleaned the old mirror and glued the new one on. Easy and fast.
