I'm renting an apartment and needed a temporary fix for a door that wouldn't stay open. That's it! One side sticks to the door and the other to another door in my house, but whatever surface you need to keep the door open. The process is very simple and quick, although you shouldn't use it until you've applied both parts. The magnet is strong, but not so strong that the door won't close again. Glue is also very good for such a strong magnet. My dog ripped off the longer side (I'm sure he's holding a magnet if that matters) so I'd recommend getting some extra round stickers if that might be a problem. That doesn't mean the stickers that come with it are bad; I'm pretty sure they're not really designed to withstand a dog jumping on an object they're glued to.
