Not even worth $5 for wearable technology

This bracelet isn't even worth the $5 I paid for it. I wore it for a month to really test it (well, almost, I gave up a few days before the month was up). When I received it, the plastic through which the Fitbit lights shine was cloudy, translucent, and tinted red. One of the photos I have shows the bottom light of a Fitbit trying to break through that horrible streak, and only semi-successfully. I didn't lose my old band, but I wore it every day for two years and the plastic got so cloudy I couldn't read it. I used the large masking tape that came with the device while waiting for this device to arrive and its plastic windows were perfectly crisp and easy to read. The inner plastic strip, which is supposed to protect the windows and keep them clean, is completely out of the tape, the corners are starting to peel off on one side. This band is uncomfortable. The band is hard, sharp, and itchy, unlike the soft and flexible band that comes with the device. I thought it might soften with wear but it definitely isn't. However, the longer I wore it, the more uncomfortable it became. I used to even forget I was wearing a fitness bracelet, but this one is so uncomfortable that I always know it even if I change the level of tightness or weakness. The metal clasp is clearly copper, which is what I expected. The silver came off after a few days and now there is a green stain on my wrist. I wasn't expecting incredible quality for $5, but I was expecting at least wearable quality. Fitbit sells their colored straps for $2, so I thought $5 for a black strap was reasonable. Obviously not. Don't worry about that.

Pros

Cons
