Throughout the course of the year, my family and I each acquired a 900N, then a 1000xm2, and finally a 1000xm3; at work, I compared it to a Bose 35 II purchased by a colleague (exchanged with him for a day), so this evaluation will touch on a variety of topics. The first thing that haunts you while deciding is whether or not you have to go with Bose. There is no clear winner; all three Sonys offer superior noise cancellation (the 1000xm2 model is the best), and the sound quality of all three is at least comparable (the 900N model is the best). Nevertheless, there are also significant drawbacks, such as the fact that you can't use 900N or 1000xm2 as a headset and the fact that you can't use them with two external devices at once; concerns about the quality of the materials; touchpad difficulties at low temperatures; and so on. Therefore, I'll simply say that, if I had to choose, I'd go with either of those Sony models instead of Bose (but this is just my personal IMHO, I do not impose it). Scores and comparisons on a 10-point scale based on various parameters: 1. Sound. 900N - 9.5; xm3 - 9; xm2 - 8.5 secondly, lowering the volume. The xm2 has top-tier (in xm3 it is also very good, but it still loses in comparison with its predecessor). xm2 - 10; xm3 - 9; 900N-7 3. akin to a headphone. Here, the xm2 and 900N have a fatal flaw, rendering their use here all but impossible. In conversations, the issue is not with you (you can hear the other person clearly, which is especially helpful when communicating in a foreign language), but with the other person. This is because any external noise is amplified and transmitted to your headphones. This cant is not entirely corrected in xm3, but it is decreased to a level below the critical one, and others are already able to have conversations with you. Six xm3; two xm2; two 900N Item 4: Power source failure. No worries about battery life with xm2 and 900N; they can go on forever. Since xm3 batteries don't have lava, I have to keep an eye on their charge levels and replenish them about once every three days (the difference in weight between the models is only 50 grams, but it seems to be due to the battery, with all the consequences). xm2-10; 900N - 9.5; xm3 - 7.5
