I really, really wanted to like this. My wife always hangs something on our doors, inside and out, and I have many colorful door hangers that I buy at dollar stores. But they don't fit, so I figured it might cost 13x as much. I was wrong. The adjustment mechanism works well...it's a simple and proven design. The curved bottom hook is a good size and durable. But that's where my joy ended. Came severely bent at the top. Maybe "curved" isn't the right word... it turned out to be a very obtuse angle. Instead of 90°, it was more like 110°, so that part of the door hook sticks out when hanging on a hinged front door. It sticks to the post and doesn't close. I tried to straighten it but it creased in the middle. The metal is weak and I'm pretty sure if I tried to bend it back it would snap in half. The design of the hanger makes it very thick. So if you hang it on a door surface that closes on a decorative stop, you can forget about it. Unlike flimsy dollar store hangers, it's over 1/4 inch thick, so a properly fitted door won't close at all. If you close it, it will rip off your paint and jump out the door. I tried to show this in one of my pictures. You can only hope that you will use it with its main part hanging on the outside of the jamb, for example on a swing door. But first you have to bend it, and when you bend it it's going to want to bend over the top, so you're going to break it unless you have a vise or pliers. Such metal can usually only be bent once before becoming severely weakened. It's just bad design. It would be better if the fastener that the metal is wrapped on was turned upside down and turned outwards. This would solve problems and make it easier to set up since it would not have to be removed to do so. Alternatively, you can just place a chair-shaped bend in it and start this wrap piece down an inch to alleviate the joint stop problem. It lies flat, won't interfere with the door closing, won't scratch or scratch your door, and yet is just as aesthetically pleasing. No, I don't recommend it, especially at this price point. If it was properly bent at the factory and costs about ¼ the cost, it would make sense to use it on a swing door. Hope that helps.
