My review is about six months from the date of purchase but better late than never! Other than that, this electric fireplace is absolutely WONDERFUL! I bought this as a Christmas present for my dear 85 year old mother and she loved it! She really can rekindle the "fire" in her fireplace! She was like a little kid with a new toy, she put it on every night, especially when she had ice cream (which she always likes to make in front of a roaring fire in winter!), and again in the morning, until coffee and breakfast! She likes the remote control because she can just sit at her desk and press two buttons, which is very convenient for her since she has rheumatoid arthritis. at once! It actually generates quite a bit of heat but she uses it mostly for ambiance :) I looked at others online but this one seemed the most real to me and defiantly didn't disappoint! It fits perfectly in the opening of her old wood-burning fireplace, she even keeps the fireplace's glass door closed when not using heat, which really makes it look like a good old cozy fire on a nice cold night! I would highly recommend this electric insert. Enjoy!
