When I bought this I found that the USB-C cable was short so I also bought an MF extenders. However, USB-C technology does not work over long cable runs (> 1 foot long). So my hope of using it as a docking station under the table was not justified. The extension cord doesn't work and the cord on this unit is too short to mount under my desk and just run its USB-C cable over the top of the desk and plug into my laptop. The device works fine when connected to a laptop, but that's why all the same cables that I connected to the laptop are connected to it (on the table). It's still useful, but not presentable at all. Update: After almost a month of use, I also bought a webcam and it also uses USB 2.0 technology, so will not work with a USB-C hub if I use it with a USB-C extender.
