I bought this camera at my sister in law's request to use as a monitor in the room to use her son . When she first tried to install the camera, it took a long time because she wouldn't connect to her wifi. She found that her WiFi password was too long. She changed it to a shorter one with a limited number of special characters, and according to the instructions, the setting worked with no problems. First make sure you have installed "YI IOT APP" as you need a camera to scan the QR code on your phone so that you can enter your WIFI key (password) to start setup to start. Also make sure your wifi and phone are connected to 2.4G as the camera does not support 5G as per the instructions. After she scanned the QR code, everything was connected. The camera will say "WIFI connected" to let you know you can use the camera. Customize your camera settings to suit your preferences for receiving notifications. Since she was using this for her baby, she set it to detect movement and cry. She loves how the camera notifies her through the camera app when the baby moves or cries. She also moves the camera to her common room because she likes to see her kids on her phone when she's at the gym (her husband watches them, of course). She can talk to them and is so amazed that she can rotate the camera 360 degrees with her phone even when far away LOL. You can hear her clearly over the speaker with no delay, and she can also hear them replying to her with no delay. She said just make sure your phone is on. She can also see them clearly in HD color on her phone through the camera. Even when the lighting is dim at night, she can still see them clearly, but in shades of grey... AMAZING. For these reasons and because of the value for money, my sister-in-law gives 5 stars.
