I bought this tool to help me insert 16 gauge (and smaller) wires into my motorcycle's terminal block. The concept is good. You insert the end of the wire into the ferrule and use a crimping tool to crimp the ferrule around the wire. At least that's the *idea*. The problem is that I can pull the wire out of the ferrule with just a slight pull. Simply moving the wire moves the wire away from the ferrule. In short, crimping is unreliable. In addition, the crimping tool is difficult to handle. It is difficult to get a crimp hole around the ferrule. Any slight movement will pull the uncompressed spade lug off the wire. If you have the luxury of routing the wiring on a workbench and then transferring it to the machine, a crimping tool might be the way to go. Trying to use it on the device itself doesn't work. Added to this is the unreliability of the tips and I advise against buying this device.
