Allscanner's VXManager is the key to proper operation. It installs the correct driver and allows the VCX Nano to work with Forscan and Ford FJDS as a J2534 passthrough. I've heard rumors that aftermarket 2534 units can't be programmed with FJDS on the MS-CAN bus, but I didn't think that was true as this VCX Nano worked perfectly with a valid FJDS license. Don't worry about using the software included on the discs. This device is actually faster than Obdlink MX and ELM327 devices with Forscan. FJDS is a new version of Ford module programming that has a clunky interface like IDS. FJDS does not have the same level of diagnostics as IDS, but if you program modules, need to change some parameters, etc., FJDS is suitable for most new Ford vehicles. This is a great alternative to buying an expensive VCM2 to program modules or run diagnostics with Forscan, mainly for home use. Pros will want to stick with VCM2 and the IDS license.
