Best Sub C-Note Bass Cans

Wary of cheap cans after Audio Technica's recent structural failure, I resigned myself to shelling out a C-Note for something good in a sealed can. Then I came across them and sold them. However, it was sold with reservations. Do they sound as cool as everyone says? Without a doubt. I've used them head to head with my Grado SR80 references and let me tell you they meet and exceed some of the parameters that blew me away. With that in mind, I'll list the pros and cons: Pros: - Large range, slightly colored at the bottom, with slightly lower mids. - Star Separation. They really let you hear everything clearly. Deadly engaging low-end with nuance and punch! I think they can beat the Grado's lows a bit - the best but most closed design in my experience. My quiet office has no leaks at all. - Excellent headset design. Which brings me to the cons; - Firm grip on the skull until you stretch the top metal strip. (I wrapped them around a volleyball for a week or two when I wasn't listening.) The cord is complete crap. I mean get ready to replace that shit! It's too long, anemic, and has a weak fork! I ended up getting a professional HOSA CMR205 3.5mm to RCA from Revain, removed the pads, unscrewed the drivers and soldered the new left and right cable channels and put them back together. Now they should last forever and this was a cheap and easy way to help people on the web. If the time and effort involved in changing cords is enough, you'd better wear c-note semi-closed headphones from anyone, anywhere! Leave no doubt about it.

Pros

Cons
