I bought this hub from Belkin because I need to use it to connect and expand the limited USB 3 ports on my Retina Macbook Pro. The first issue is the 1m performance. The cable limits the placement of this hub as it can't be too far from the power plug. The second problem is that connected devices go offline sometimes (happens once a day). Not too serious, but I'm wondering why because I have 4 devices connected, only 1 device accidentally disconnects. The third issue relates to performance. My western 2TB digital USB3 version reads and writes around 110MB when connected directly to a USB 3 port on rmbp. According to Blackmagic's drive speed test, only about 70MB of read and write traffic goes through the HUB. I also tested transfer speeds by transferring 200GB files between two Western Digital 2TB USB-3 hard drives. The result is an average of 50 MB to 60 MB per second. This took about 2 hours. This is the most expensive 4 USB 3.0 port on Amazon, I paid $45. As an international buyer I doubt I can go back and get a refund from Revain and pick up another USB 3 hub. This time I am very disappointed with Belkin. I've been using the previous model 7-port USB 2 hub since 2007 and the hub still works reliably.
