I took it to replace the outdated Apple TimeCapsule 3TB, and regretted it. Today I'm going to take archer 7 to the store. The router works very poorly even in the line of sight, the distance is from 3 to 5 meters. Tested on 5 GHz networks in all possible options, including only ac mode. There is no interference nearby, as the Apple TimeCapsule produces a stable signal quality. The provider gives me a network of 100 megabits. A cable connection via TimeCapsule stably shows results ( SpeedTest ) from 94/93 to 94/85 Mbit/s, while TP-Link Archer 7 gives a consistently poor result. The speed floats at the time of the test, and often drops to 24/16 MBit / s, while sometimes it reaches the TimeCapsule values in terms of speed, but it never gives a stable picture, like on TC, only floating values. Often the Internet connection is completely lost. I think the processor is failing. I don’t understand at all how many users (I have about 10 devices at home) will fumble for a connection via a tp-link (a dissonant name, by the way). When I tried to download a test file from the Internet without using speedtest, I got a speed of 4MB / s, the file size was slightly less than 1Gb, the time was about 170 seconds, but the Internet connection was simply interrupted by 80%. At the same time, I am confident in everything, in wires, connections, gigabit network and provider . And also, in the server from which I downloaded the file. Own server. Perhaps I came across a defective device, because if you read the reviews, the piece of iron is simply angelic. But! What is marriage? Maybe some electronic components refuse to work under load? I dont know. As for the firmware, the native, the latest, was already installed at the factory, there is nothing to ate. Revision V4, firmware dated March 2022. And yes, I am those. the expert, in iron, networks, protocols and other I understand. A big plus, ipv6 earned immediately (6k4), no dancing with a tambourine. As for the soft settings, there are a lot of them, everything is fine. One thing, all firewalls and other goodies cut the connection speed greatly.
