I bought a tent for my nine year old son who has sensory problems. He has always been afraid of the dark, he has night terrors and his fears seem to increase with age. Even though I leave the lamp on all night, constantly making sure the closet doors are perfectly straight and closed and the blackout curtains cover every inch of the window and that none of it is too soft for him, he still sleeps with his head completely under it all the blankets, usually wake up drenched in sweat. And several times a week he woke up with a bad dream and had to sleep with me, which kept me from sleeping all night. I read that such a tent sometimes helps children who are afraid of the dark and children with autism. There was another tent that looked more spacious and solid, but not knowing if a tent would help at all, I decided to start with this one. From the first night I put it on his bed three weeks ago until today, he never woke me up! He says he feels safe in the tent, and he doesn't scold me for going to bed or force me into a routine to "monster-proof" his room. He goes to bed with a smile and doesn't get up until morning. I should have bought it many years ago! It was easy to set up and held up well to jumps and friends. As long as this one lasts I see no need to shell out money for a roomier one. It works great!
