Weighs less than advertised BUT.

In general, I like the backpack, but there are two significant design flaws. First, there is no padding on the bottom of the laptop sleeve. From past experience, I've realized that this is critical. What's the point of protecting your laptop if the bottom that touches the ground doesn't have padding? Second, the lap belt is unfortunately a lap belt. I even have a short torso and in order for the lap belt to sit over my hips I have to lower the shoulder straps. This is not a solution as all of the weight is placed uncomfortably down/back. I really wanted to use a hip belt because I backpack a lot here in Alaska. The backpack itself needs to be taller for the hip belt to work properly with the correct length of shoulder strap. I also wish the shoulder straps were softer. There are almost none. PS, with all the inserts in the bag, it weighs 3.84 pounds. This is a little less than 3.96 pounds. Applied. Maybe they want to change that. Hope for an improved backpack in the future.
