SOUND: I bought two and can't believe how great they sound. I had the original JBL charger. Charge 3 gets the elderberry out of the water. I bought and returned a JBL Extreme (1st generation). Too much bass for me. If you like punch without the mids then this is your speaker. I wanted a more intertwined and sewn together theatrical sound. It took weeks to find her. We eventually found two JBL Charge 3s connected to the Stereo app. wow wow Close your eyes and the singer is right in front of you and the music comes from left and right. JBL met these baseball guys. Portability: Buy a Khanka EVA hard case. It can store the charger and cable. I carry both in my backpack and they fit perfectly. Outdoors: I took them to the backyard and placed them about 20 feet apart from each other. I got a lot of compliments on the sound. The music is so well produced today and it's a shame you can't really hear the breakup and the work of the artists. You can hear everything with these speakers. I'm very happy with the Charge 3. Comparing durability, smoothness, sound per unit. I really don't think you can get any better. I've eyed Sony with tweeters, but if you need portable headphones then JBL is the only way.
