The noise is tolerable at low speed and the heater puts out a decent amount of heat even when set to the lowest of the three heat settings. But at medium and high speeds it's louder than we'd like. In terms of heating performance, it is quite normal for a small bedroom and even a small living room. However, it is probably used more for air cooling than as a permanent sole heat source. The radiator can be adjusted to oscillate back and forth. Or he can remain motionless. It has auto-off features and a rollover switch, but I haven't tested either of those features. I think most of the more expensive digitally controlled heaters today include these safety features. Overall I am very satisfied for the price paid. This model appears to be selling much cheaper than it used to be.
