When I got my new apartment, it had a fridge/freezer and my old "cold plates" for ice cream, which were about 12 inches in circumference, didn't fit "flat". I chose this rectangular one after checking the dimensions beforehand. making small batches of "on demand" frozen treats, which I can do. A NOTICE. After some testing, I suggest pouring the ice cream base onto a plate and then popping it back in the freezer for at least 5-7 minutes BEFORE picking it up and tossing it together. After picking up a small pile, place it AGAIN in the freezer for another 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a container with a freezer lid. This method resulted in a much firmer ice cream, at least for me, which I was aiming for.
