I wanted to love her. They were so beautiful when they arrived. However, like most of the people mentioned, they had a very unpleasant chemical odor, which probably wasn't a good sign. Still, I gave him a chance. I've read that they need to be washed and that will get rid of the smell. Mind you I hand washed. I know that wooden utensils should not be washed in the dishwasher. After the first hand wash, 1) the smell didn't go away and 2) the wood looked like I've had it for 20 years. It was like the cover had come off or something. This is how it looks now after several washes (hand wash only). I don't know if it's mold or silicone paint seeping into the wood (that would explain the smell). Anyway, I'm very disappointed. They look so ugly and old after only using them for a week. I'll probably just throw them away.
