After reading many reviews I was hesitant to order as I have been in aircraft modification and manufacturing for 40 years, many drill presses have been used and this small drill press is ideal for the home workshop. Read that some machines are painted orange and some are painted yellow, with orange being the best drill and you don't have a choice on the machine you get by color. The one I ordered was orange. It took about 10 minutes to assemble and start up. When I tested 6061 aluminum and some 1010 mild steel with a 1/4 to 1 inch drill bit, the smaller drill bits were drilled standing up. A larger 1" drill bit would slow the machine down but still be able to drill with light pressure. My drill was well packaged and there were no problems with the parts. Note, however, that this is not a commercial drill. I am very happy with its performance and it will work well in my metal workshop. the laser sucks. but I ran it through different drill speeds and several different types of metal. So for $250.00 I'm more than satisfied, a bit noisy at lower speeds, stops running at higher speeds. The noise is from the drive belt skipping. Nylon roller bolt with large washer and nut to hold it in place. The idler simply takes the flop off the band. Also, like I said, I drilled the hole to 1 inch. I wouldn't recommend this, I did it for performance testing, but it might do well in wood, not steel. The press comes with the tools needed for assembly, namely 2 Allen keys and a wrench. As I said before this is a great machine for the home workshop and as several reviews say they use their machines for more intensive use which is my intention and I believe it will perform those tasks well. I wish you all the best with your new Wen drill. top date is 2/23/18, as the drill was a bit noisy I turned it on and just let it run for a few hours and surprisingly it works very quickly. My buddy stopped by to see how he and the electrician were doing. I told him that he had been working for several hours and the engine was very hot. He looked at it and said, dude, it only has half the windings, what about the American motor? and when drilling I will use it because I might want to replace the motor so we can see if it will hold up, if not I have no problem buying a motor with more windings. So far the press is going well and I like that.
