I'm thrilled. I am very happy that it arrived faster than expected. I was planning to order a fondue pot as a gift for my husband for our 6 year anniversary. 6th year - iron and / or candy. After much deliberation I decided to look into fondue pots as I can work in the cute aspect just as well as I can in iron (or metal). I looked at the electric one first and decided I didn't want to be near an outlet to enjoy food that is usually cooked in fondue pots. I saw that there were cast iron pans, which made even more sense for the 6th anniversary theme. So I found one I liked and added it to my cart. Then I bought other things and just left my shopping cart alone. Somehow I forgot the order so as I went back to my cart I thought I'd check what I added. I decided to take one last look at fondue pot options. Well, there was this one that I hadn't seen before. And yes, I liked the look. I liked the black cast iron (we have a gas range and lots of black cast iron so that just adds to the collection), I liked the black cast iron base and I liked that it has two small side handles instead of one big long one. Looks like a regular cast iron skillet. So I figured we could easily use it for non-fondue needs. And for me simply more visually appealing. Well, then I saw that the delivery date would be a few days after the actual anniversary (I could still get the other original in time). BUT I still chose this one because I ended up liking it more. I was confident that our marriage would survive the belated gift. However, it arrived a few days early on our actual anniversary. Just a fun little detail that added to my experience. The pot turned out just as great as I expected. I think I'll add an extra layer of spice to make it smoother. I clean them like any other cast iron skillet, with salt and a little oil of course. Then wipe or rinse, then add oil for extra protection. Can be used on the stove and of course can be used with base and fuel. I bought extra fuel from them. If you're not used to cast iron, be aware that it may take a little longer to heat up, but once hot it holds heat longer than other vessels. So far very happy with this purchase.
