I bought this collar for my 1.5 year old Golden Retriever. He loves to run when he's at the dog park and I wanted to be in control of him. The range is good, but I'm sure the hilly terrain will change the range. Adjust the sensitivity. I use it at home too, only the first 2 buttons mostly help with the friendly nature when it's next to our 3 granddaughters (4 and 5 years old) and its size is intimidating. The transmitter button is stuck on top of the kick button, but if you're careful it's an easy fix. On a positive note, I emailed support about the issue and they responded and replaced the transmitter the next day. ++ in my book. The number of times support ends after you purchase a product. Overall I am very happy with this dog collar. The battery replacement time is fast and lasts for the specified time. We haven't tested it in a lake but have been in a couple of downpours and performed with no issues. Good buy, I would recommend to other dog owners. Bill Kelly Lawrence, Kansas
