It was very easy to set up. I've never used a Swift, but I bought a ball wrapper from another store that had a stationary cone and a moving feed arm. The ball was dirty and I didn't finish the skein while using it. This winding machine has a fixed arm and the cone itself moves. My finger yarn made perfect cakes. Swift held the strand in place and there was no tangling. The thread caught around the corner at the end of the bottom of the quick arms, but that was easily fixed by lifting the thread slightly with your free hand to keep it from falling too low. when i used it there was no noise, and I was able to make 2 yarn cakes in about 10 minutes. I couldn't be happier with these and I will never try spinning yarn without one of these again. The winder is small and only works with lighter yarn or smaller cakes.
