I really like the idea of a network TV receiver, but after (successfully) setting up this product and using it all day, I find it useless at the below given reasons. I plan to return it. Problems: - Streaming pauses intermittently, resolution has to be halved to get acceptable picture - Signal seems to be intermittent even at good RF levels. Missing features: - Unable to connect via Ethernet: Wi-Fi only. . Can help with streaming issues if ethernet is present - can't record then disable app - can't schedule recording setup I have router model #TL-WR841N installed. I can also easily stream other content. I'm running a Plex server on a small Raspberry Pi 3 connected via ethernet and I find it works fine. Even Plex HD is maintained normally. I found the installation quite easy and the device was up and running quickly with the app. By connecting an external antenna, I got 39 channels, just like my OTA TV. However, the picture stuttered on almost all channels and the streaming was unusable in high definition, choppy in medium resolution and barely enjoyable in low resolution most of the time. I was able to record but it stopped when I closed the app. I couldn't schedule the recording (but didn't expect it based on the product description). I believe part of the problems with streaming is due to using Wi-Fi for both the tuner for the router and the router for my phone. An Ethernet connection from the tuner to the router can help. There is an ethernet port but was unable to connect to it. This product appears to be an early and immature attempt at an internet tuner, but it still needs a lot of work. I expect Hauppauge will improve it over time, for example by including an Ethernet port to speed things up. I've emailed support but haven't received a response so I'm planning on sending it back tomorrow. ============================================== = === ======= ============ Here are the product features as shown on the local webpage: Cordcutter TV ATSC Serial Number: 46812 Version: 1.1.0-403r1 Product Information Firmware Update Versions ------ Geniatech DVB> IP Server 1.1.0-403r1 10.10.2017 17:27:16Copyright (C) 2016-2017 Geniatech Inc.Ltd.Cordcutter TV is a trademark of Hauppauge Inc.
