I have already used two Filtrete bags and decided to go back to original Miele bags. When I use a Miele bag, there is NO dust in the bag compartment, yes, ZERO! Using a filter bag will cover the compartment with a very thin layer of dust. It's not bad, but I bought the Miele Onyx for its incredible filtration, lightness and quietness. By using Filtrete packages I sacrificed a third of the core shopping experience for myself. Today I compared the packages side by side to describe the differences. The Miele bag weighs 46 grams, has a self-closing plastic flap that closes the bag and an elastic closure to prevent dust from entering at the joint. The Filtrete bag weighs 36 grams, has no valve and the connecting seam does not stretch - it more closely resembles a thin layer of a filter. The choice is yours depending on what level of filtering you're looking for. After spending days of research (and a decent amount of money) to find the best working vacuum for our situation, it seemed foolish to sacrifice filtration and possibly shorten the life of my vacuum.
