I bought this thinking it would be very convenient to use with hot dogs/sausages. He squashed a regular old hot dog into a sausage. It was hard. That does not work. This works for bananas and is easy to peel. That means it's pretty cheap, but what can you expect from a $5 kitchen gadget? The plastic part fell out after the second use. It was clearly not a necessary piece of plastic because it can still be used. All in all, for $5 if you just want to chop bananas, this is a good budget gadget. BUT since the ads I've seen showed it being used with hot dogs, which it DOESN'T work with, I'm giving it low marks for versatility. Overall, m'eh.it works for what it is but not for everything it's advertised for.
