I AM SO HAPPY TO FIND THIS PRODUCT! I'm Colombian and my hair has always been frizzy, frizzy and drier. My hair is also damaged by frequent heat styling and multiple color treatments. The keratin treatment has made my hair a thousand times softer, less frizzy and much smoother. I still have a few waves in my hair, but I also didn't use a clarifying shampoo before the treatment (because I didn't want to wash the color or toner out of my hair). However, this product is still amazing and I'm so glad I tried it! I also only used 1/4 bottle and my hair is very long! PRE-TREATMENT: I didn't use the clarifying shampoo as directed because I didn't want to wash the color or toner out of my hair. Instead, I washed my hair three times with sulfate-free shampoo and didn't use conditioner. Then I let my hair air dry. APPLICATION: I highly recommend doing this project in a very well ventilated area + wearing gloves. I parted my hair and then used the brush to apply the product to the top half of the section. I then used a plastic comb with very fine teeth to comb the product through the ends. After my entire head was covered, I let the product air dry for about 30 minutes before blow-drying on low heat. I ended up straightening my damn hair. I used a ceramic straightener at 390°F (didn't want to fry my hair) and straightened the sections until no visible fumes or "steam" came out of the hair after straightening. After this process, I expected silky straight hair. However, my hair felt thin, sticky, and quite coarse. Looking back, maybe I used too much product. Leave for 24 hours and then wash. After washing in the shower, I knew immediately that the treatment had worked. My hair was very soft and smooth even when wet! SMOKE: This product contains formaldehyde (2%). I strongly recommend wearing gloves and performing the treatment in a well-ventilated area. Fumes are VERY unpleasant and carcinogenic. I performed the procedure outside on the porch, pointing the fan directly at me. This made the fumes quite tolerable. RESULTS: I've attached photos but they don't capture the suppleness of my cuticles. Left immediately after the pre-treatment, right after the first wash. My hair isn't perfectly straight, but I didn't follow the directions fully either (I skipped the clarifying shampoo and 450F). However, my hair is MUCH silkier and smoother. I'll check how long it lasts :) UPDATE: It's been a month and my hair is still silky! Haven't noticed any change yet but will update again when my hair is back to its tousted dry normal state and I need to reapply.
