I have been using this product with fruit and veg for almost 40 years. Our oldest parrot died at the age of 53, my middle parrot is 35 and my child is 22. We believe this pure and wonderful bird seed has made a difference. It is very important for new parrot owners to understand that a seed-only diet is too fat for parrots. Fresh fruits and vegetables are a must. Vets recommend a small amount of seeds. The vets also want the birds to eat the pellets but my three won't eat them no matter what I do with them. Parrots are stubborn when it comes to food. It took us 3 years to transition our older parrot from sunflower seeds to safflower seeds. Do not give your parrot sunflower seeds. They are too oily for indoor parrots.
