Review on Rubie's Pet Costume: Unleash Your Furry Friend's Halloween Style! by Erica Shine

That's nice, but.: dogs

I should start by saying that Lord Nibble (Nibble for short) has a full wardrobe of t-shirts, pajamas, socks, puppy boots (because all dogs are puppies no matter what old they are). He literally never goes "naked" and always wears some kind of t-shirt. I say this because I spoil this little guy's daylight to keep him warm in the colder months and to protect his body from fly bites due to his very thin coat. In general, I'm a snob in dog clothes. Or an expert. Maybe both. Anyway, we ordered this Sir Barking costume just in time to go to the Renaissance Festival here in Minnesota. We even paid an extra $4 for express shipping to make sure we got there on time. The costume arrived on time, was properly packaged and true to size. It's amazing too. So why only 2 stars?* It's cheaply made - this costume is made from the same flimsy and cheap material that makes up all the Halloween costumes that people have to pay money for last minute stuff they do. * Velcro has Velcro. The bottom for closing and the knight's "helmet" is not attached - I was expecting a solid block. Consider a dog sweatshirt with a hood that attaches at the top of the collar to keep it in place. I also expected to have to pull it over Nibbler's head like we do with his other shirts. Instead the velcro in the chest area is difficult to attach unless your dog is a statue and there is a very high chance it will 1- come off and 2- get caught in the fur. * "Knight Helm" is put on. small dogs - not attached to the base of the costume. The only "method" to ensure safety is to put on a hood and pin it in place by catching the dog's ears. Nibbler is a tiny dog with a tiny head that was too small to be of any use in that particular area, so instead of a helmet he had a "shell collar" for five minutes while the suit was on before I put him on assumed despair. * "Mail" is cheap - I didn't expect real chain letters at all. Even the glossy silk screen effect would be better. This suit could be great if it was completely redesigned. Ideally, instead of the cheap material and multiple parts it's currently made out of, it should be sweatshirt or t-shirt material with all the suit accents screen-printed AND the 'helmet' must be attached. I've often paid less for Marvel t-shirts and hoodies to use as costumes, but they're also handy to leave on your dog if you prefer, so I see no reason why Sir Bark's costume much can not deliver me quality. . (Hint: It's always easy to make big bucks from t-shirts and dog costumes the week after Halloween.) For reference, right after the Queen gave it back to me — the turkey neck and Velcro on the bottom were just over in person to person - we took off the suit and put it in my pocket. I quickly bought him a handmade puppy kilt which did not disappoint. If you're looking for a quick and easy costume for your dog and don't care about quality or plan on reusing, this costume will do you just fine. However, if you have the time, search on etsy and head to your local Petsmart or Petco. You're sure to find something you like but of much better quality and worth the price that comes with it.
