Old optical cable stopped functioning after probably 8 yrs. Wanted a nice quality cable to replace that one without spending a lot of money. Discovered this one and saw the numberof reviews, read reviews and was sold. Have had it in place for several weeks now and only issue (which maybe me and my lack of audio knowledge) is that I seem to have to turn the volume on speaker bar up higher then when had previous cable attached. This seems to be for any input. ( Cable, Roku or 4k player) Old cable for example cable watching usually had volume set at 10-13 depending on what was viewing. With this cable volume now has to be around 15-20 to get what seems to be same level of output from speaker bar. I have gotten use to this and and happy enough with the cable.that I feel it is truly a minor inconvenience.
