I really believe it whitens my teeth but every time I try to compare them with a strip I get a different color. Photographing changes with angle and lighting, as does just looking at the strip. My husband and I were torn, because in the light of the house it seemed to us that it was 2-3 tones different than when we brought the light closer and examined it. I suspect the home light is probably more accurate since no one would put the light on our faces to see it, but either way we struggled to choose a shade depending on the time of day or the method we were using. However, I find them whiter for me. Also, they are very easy to use. Just brush your teeth, draw on them with a pen and put the typewriter in your mouth. I found it easier to lay down with it on, so I didn't bite as hard when trying to hold it down. But ten minutes goes by relatively quickly, which is good. I also like that the pens can be used individually. Remember to rinse and spit it out afterwards!
