Putting it all together is easy, but a little previous modeling experience will be very helpful. The laser cut parts are durable and made from very good wood. The pieces are held on the board by tiny connections that need to be cut. It was easier for me to see and cut these connections from behind. Not all tabs fit exactly. Some were too big. In some cases, the rectangular tab needs to fit into an oval hole. The boards were slightly warped and a couple of large pieces didn't fit. A little modeling experience is an advantage here. It took a stroke or two with the sharpening rod to get some of the tabs a good fit, but don't overdo it or they won't fit exactly. A little soaking and then fixing with a little PVA glue got each slightly warped piece to fit properly. I also found a drop of PVA glue here, which was necessary to hold the structure in place. With laser cutting, the edges remain charred. There is also light charring on the surface of some pieces. This will give the finished structure a slightly dirty look. If you really want a nice result, you can try sanding and painting the surface before removing the pieces. You then need to sand the exposed edges and paint them as well. It's going to be a lot of work, but maybe I'll give it a try if I make another one.
