The compression on these socks was good. The material was just right, not too thick, not too thin. I wore them for my flight on vacation to help prevent the pudgy swelly appendage twins from messing up my good time. The socks sufficiently covered my calves and did their job.My only issue was the toe seams on these socks. They mercilessly dug into the sides of my great and pinky toes, leaving fairly deep, uncomfortable indentations. This was despite my wearing 'sensible slip on' roomy leather mules for my trips through airport security and the flight. It could simply be a matter of 'fit' for me. For reference, I wear a 8.5 womens shoe, regular width. Although I will not be using these socks very much in the future due to my toe seam discomfort, they do provide the compression they advertise.
