Review on ⏰ Timex T309T Radio Alarm Clock: Titanium with Nature Sounds (Discontinued by Manufacturer) - A Reliable Way to Wake Up Naturally by Kathy Lee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

best clock radio i have ever seen

After reading many online reviews and visiting Target to take a look at their range of clock radios I decided on this one for a number of reasons . . First, it has a backup battery, which you think most electric watches have, but don't. This saves all your settings except that the alarm will switch to a buzzer and not the radio or nature sounds. It doesn't let you sleep, which is important. Second, it doesn't have a bright display. I'm very, very sensitive to light when trying to sleep at night. The display is backlit (amber) with a dimmer knob, but I found it doesn't turn off completely. Guess I'll have to take it away and flip it if need be. However, the darkest setting is very dark and doesn't light up the entire room. Third, it's small, fitting on my bedside table, but heavy enough that I won't keep knocking it over. My watch arrived today and I have to say I'm very happy with it. It looks very nice, is made of good, durable materials, and the radio sounds pretty good for a clock radio. Setting the alarm isn't intuitive, but the instructions in the manual are clear and I was able to figure it out. A previous reviewer said that holding down the button to change the minutes doesn't speed it up; This actually makes it run faster, but not as fast as I'd like or expect. (There is no button to advance the hour, one button does everything). Radio presets like a car radio. There are 6 buttons but you can set 18 presets if you press the "Band" button for another set of 6 FM stations to add them to the first 6 and press again for a set of 6 receive AM stations. Revain allows you to download the manual (on this webpage) before you buy, demystifying everything that customer reviews don't. EDIT: February 16th, 2021 I just stumbled across this review I wrote 15 years ago. This clock radio still works! Looks great, works great. In 2006 I never expected what I bought to last more than 5-10 years. (I hope I'm not smoothing out those radio clocks now!)

Pros
  • fingers crossed
Cons
  • the packaging is ugly
