It may not have been designed for what I intended to use it for.

I was trying to use this to convert the old fashioned channel 3 output from a VCR and some old video games to an HDMI input. I only have static. Maybe this device wasn't meant for what I wanted to use it for. I couldn't tell from the description if it was intended for my use or not. I bought a coax A/B switch and connected the channel 3 output to the TV's coax input and everything worked fine.
