I find it easier to keep clean than a traditional litter box which is filled with absorbent material, wood shavings etc and sucks up very strong smelling rabbit urine. In comparison, this toilet allows me to just use recyclable urine pads in the drawer (and put a few drops of essential oil on them to make them smell nice), then every other day I just pull out the bowl, remove, and replace the urine pad. The plastic "grid" has holes large enough for feces to fall through. And it keeps my rabbit from standing in a dirty bed when urinating. He doesn't seem uncomfortable to sit, like on metal bars. The picture above shows the second day after removing the previous urine pad. Note the chew marks on the edge - my rabbit chews on everything. Now I spray the rim with vinegar every few days and it doesn't chew on it anymore. I've also included a photo of the pee pads I used.
