Review on Edifier H840 Audiophile Over-The-Ear Headphones - Hi-Fi Closed Monitor Music Listening - Blue by Patrick Diaz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bass is strong, muddy, not neutral or transparent

The H840s I received may be defective. Out of the box, they were too heavy, squishy, and overdone in the lower midrange. I've connected Edifer to 72 hours of uninterrupted music across a variety of genres. I've been an audiophile for decades. Sonically, these are the worst headphones I've ever used. Gift headphones sound better. They are comfortable but not worth wearing. If you prefer a neutral sound, this isn't for you. If all you care about is medium bass, these will suit you. If you like dirty vocals this is for you. If you have two large bass modules in the trunk, pumped up for extra bass to get your wheels off the ground, they'll be great for you. you are so bad I really wanted to like her. You are cozy. But don't give them away; otherwise I would have given them away. I don't throw away audio equipment. I could make an exception for her or leave her in case my hearing goes wrong. Maybe they are wrong. That's the best I can say. I read the good reviews before purchasing through Revain. Maybe it was my fault when I hooked them up to a quality audio system. I wanted a transparent live sound. Maybe they aren't designed for that. When connected to an iPod, they're bad, just not that bad.
