To be honest, I was really looking forward to that. As soon as it arrived in the mail I immediately started cleaning the brushes. I haven't washed my brushes in weeks (I know it's awful) so it might be that, but I noticed that by the time I was done, makeup residue was left on the mat. After rinsing and brushing for about five minutes, the residue didn't budge (first photo after cleaning the brushes, last photo after cleaning the carpet). I was also expecting it to be a bit bigger, now the size is acceptable, but some of my powder brushes were too big. I tried using my beauty blender on it but found the mat to be too rough for my beauty blender as part of the blender was torn although not very noticeable. However, I would not recommend using a beauty blender. In terms of cleanliness, I feel the mat did just an average job, which I could easily have done without.
