We have been using this Culligan system for a couple of years now and have been generally happy with the filter performance and water quality. That all changed with the recent purchase of two replacement cartridges (comes with Culligan filters, not fakes). As noted by other dissatisfied reviewers, the water flowed out of the filter much faster than usual and was absolutely no different from what flowed straight out of the tap, with the same taste and smell of chlorine. The second filter was exactly the same, ie. out of order. In both cases, the initial rinsing process resulted in maybe a few seconds of dirty water, followed by a clean stream, while the previous filters we've bought took about a minute before they were noticeably clear. It seemed clear that either the water bypassed the actual filter entirely or there was no internal filter originally. Culligan should be aware of these issues as many have complained about them, but I have yet to receive a response from them confirming the issue. The solution for me was to throw the Culligan filter in the trash and buy another model (a horizontal PUR model that still works great). I think Culligan needs to review their quality control issues or they lose. many customers; I know they're done.
