I was wondering if this would work for drinking water. After receiving it, I can tell everyone with confidence, no, do not use for water. The cabin smells strongly of paint or gasoline and is not the best place to drink water. In fact, mine was pre-wetted with something like gasoline. I don't know if this is a return or if they test the devices with solvent before shipping, but they are pre-contaminated with something. The glass is heavy and strong, so it has everything for it. It's certainly heavier than a modern petrol can, but you get it for looks. I guess I just don't think it's that great for the money. But on the other hand, if your car build would look best with a green can on the back, then go for it. Nothing wrong with that, it works.
