This is the only vegan protein I dislike that feels completely natural. The texture is rougher and grainier and the product tastes like soft pumpkin seeds when consumed directly. It usually adds a thicker, nutty flavor to the smoothie and doesn't change the color too much. I like to mix it with flour to make microwavable cupcakes as it also adds a nutty feel without any unwanted aftertaste. I switched it up and tried Sprout Living Simple Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder and they appear to be two completely different products. The sprout powder was more typical of the dirtier protein powder and was usually a light light green color. The taste was pretty bland but I felt like I was forcing myself to eat more. It's probably more tolerable in a smoothie than in the microwave, which is what I did. In baked goods, it resembled the texture of whey protein and added "flakiness." Only comment: I wish there was a measuring spoon included. I am using 2 tablespoons at the moment and not sure if that is correct.
