Review on 🖥️ Sabrent USB 2.0 Sharing Switch for 4 Computers and Peripherals with LED Indicators (USB-USS4) by Ken Reiff

I bought this without really looking at the reviews because it's cheap but happened to go back and check it out and noticed that people who mentioned it, fired their computer. This device has actually worked fine for me, switching my mouse and keyboard between two computers, but I'm just lucky that I have two computers that can tolerate the absolutely fatal flaw of this hub - no diode between the +5V lines on the USB ports. This means that if you use this to create a connection between two different computers, the computers will power each other through the USB ports. Some computers can endure this indefinitely, some can endure this for a while before dying, and some will die instantly. That might be ok, just fry your USB port or it might destroy your entire motherboard. I cracked it to verify this was the case by looking at the PCB and yes the +5V pins are directly connected together with no diodes. An extra $0.05 for parts and this device would be perfect; just as you have a 50/50 chance that it will destroy your computer. Or computers, because usually you connect them to two. PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ARE 100% RIGHT, IT HAS A REAL CHANCE OF DESTROYING EVERYTHING YOU CONNECT IT TO.
