I put these lightbulbs in my motion sensor for Halloween to keep them from direct exposure to dew and rain, and to keep them from overheating after being on for ten minutes. They have great lighting and everything was lit the entire length of my driveway. and my neighbor across the street wanted to know where I got them when he saw how well they work going the distance to glow and wanted them but when I checked online they were sold out. I don't know how they will perform with normal outdoor use or how long they will last, but for my intended use they worked very well and I've used them in a motion sensor lighting unit for about two weeks and they're still working. Now saved for next year. I have read conflicting information on the web that they are suitable for outdoor use and another says they are not rated for outdoor use so one piece of information needs clarification. However, my motion sensor covered the bulbs, protecting them from the weather. In any case, they fit perfectly for my use and when checking the lamps, they are of very good quality. They were more than I was willing to pay but I can see they are of above average quality.
